It is a great feeling rescuing a dog, or at least that's how I feel.
Pedo has been my best friend for the last 15 years, is a vital part of my family, life and home. He's a pure breed long-haired Chihuahua. We have been through many situations and crises throughout our lives. When only a month old he developed an infection from a fall into an oil pit. To clean the little guy he was scrubbed with toothbrushes for several days. A friend told me about the little guy and how hope on saving his life had left his owners. I purchased this baby for $60 bucks and picked up his medical expenses. It took months for him to get over the effects from the oil. Pedo later had seizures which lasted for many years. Recently he lost his sight in his left eye, and was having fear when I would leave home.
Told myself that adopting a little girl dog from a local shelter might calm his fears. Well . . .
Bella is solid black, a Chihuahua mix, and one of the most loving dogs I have ever had. She and Pedo have become the best of friends. Bella is approximately 14 months old. What a beautiful addition she is to our family. However . . .
There is this one problem. Pedo is extremely well mannered. He always appears to love his meals, eats with the best of manners, even stops to take a drink prior to finishing his meals. Oh my goodness! You should see Bella! I have never in my life seen a dog eat so fast. Would simply describe her as a little pig. She eats her meals within only a few seconds! What type of problems will she develop from easting so fast? How can I stop her from this behavior? And as you can imagine after she eats her meal she instantly wants to devour Pedo's meal as well.
Can anyone give an insight to what may have caused Bella to develop this behavior?
