From the Health Club website there is a Diet Cookie Recipe article which informs us that there is a crazy diet plan based on just eating cookies. I love cookies, but don’t believe I could just live on cookies alone.
The article states that a doctor recently stated that he believes most people who are overweight tend to have a thyroid problem. Read the following for fun and please consult your personal doctor before you attempt such a diet: “This doctor has also suggested a new cookie diet. It is believed that the cookie diet recipe used in this diet can boost your thyroid function and can help you in your weight loss attempts. Ironically, the cookie diet recipe used in this diet plan is high in sugar, fat and starch, which is meant to satiate your appetite, but limit your intake of calories.”
Well, I love cookies, and can not decide to make my famous “Tropical Oatmeal Bars,” or attempt the following recipe:
The cookie diet recipe
Given below is the recipe of the cookies used for a cookie diet:
3 large eggs
3 cups of whole-wheat pastry flour
1 cup of uncooked bran and dry oats
2 ½ cups of oats
¾ cup of orange juice
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup non fat, milk powder
1 cup of honey
1 cup raisins
1 cup nuts
1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tablespoons of canola oil
1½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons orange extract
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
Recipe
- Mix the oat-bran mixture and the orange juice in a large bowl and keep it aside for about 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the orange extract, applesauce, eggs, vanilla, oil, honey and sugar, using an electronic blender. Blend till all the ingredients form a smooth, creamy batter.
- Using a sifter, measure out the flour, the baking soda and the baking powder, sifting them into the mixture of the applesauce.
- Add the soaked oat-bran to the applesauce and mix the ingredients.
- Scoop out some of the cookie batter on to cookie sheets. Bake the cookies for around 12 to 14 minutes, or until they are golden-brown
Don’t believe I can eat more than one or two per day. However, that’s about all the sweets I eat on any given day.
